I liked it but didn’t like the change in tone on/off. MXR M234 is on order from Sweetwater. it basically does what i want a chorus to do, and then some, but without any digital-ness or hi-fi style. I have not tried the MXR Strero Chorus (the big yellow one). Should you not need all the modes, then you'd be better off with the Boss DC-2W reissue. Anyone ever pass/quit a band due to disagreement over "personal beliefs"? That lush, '80s chorus is delivered in spades by the DC-2W, while updates have found issues with the original – noise and low output volume – largely mitigated. I have tried all the Boss Chorus Pedals. If it didn’t do that in bypass, I’d like it even better. These sounds are a far cry from the 80s chorus tones you might immediately think of, and that will be either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your viewpoint. This is then blended back with the dry signal. Chorus uses a delay line to split your guitar signal into a ‘dry’ and a duplicate ‘wet’ signal, then an LFO subtly detunes the wet part. JavaScript is disabled. Among the options are EQ for each mode, and perhaps most excitingly, pre-delay and waveform options for further tweaking. As it's all analogue, the Julia sounds amazing, but it is a tad noisy – that said, it's a small price to pay for great vintage tones. Eventually I went with a DOD FX65 though, which has a Delay Time knob, which is the only feature worth having, IMO. What's the general opinion on which is better? 8. Choosing the best chorus pedal for you is largely down to finding one where the timbre and options gel with what you're creatively trying to achieve. I am looking for a dedicated chorus to run in front of my H9 when the latter is in reverb or delay mode. With true analogue bucket brigade technology onboard, juxtaposition of the rate and depth controls gives a wide range of familiar classy chorus tones. In the 2000s, inspired in part by the return to popularity of C86 and shoegaze sounds, the chorus pedal came back into fashion again, with Chase Bliss capturing the mood when they launched their brand on the back of the brilliant Warped Vinyl chorus pedal. So, it may depend on your particular combination of pedals or even pedal order. Read the full TC Electronic Corona Chorus review, A seriously versatile all-analogue chorus/vibrato, Price: $199/£192/€205 | Controls: Rate, depth, lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato blend, wave shape switch | Sockets: Input, output, power | Bypass: True bypass | Power requirements: 9V power supply. Is this Black Sabbath cover by King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp and his wife Toyah the oddest tribute of 2020? The finest analog chorus sounds: from clear, rich and dimensional to warm pulsating warbles, can be intensified with the Depth Control. I have had the CH-1 and still have the MXR. That makes the Corona seriously versatile and almost endlessly updatable. We'll be reporting on the best offers right through to Black Friday itself. Got it brand new for 90 bucks. The sounds are as authentic as can be, too, thanks to an all-analogue circuit, complete with all-important bucket brigade delay chips. The Gear Page is the leading online community and marketplace for guitars, amps, pedals, effects and associated gear. Somewhere between the minimalist Micro Chorus and the larger format Stereo Chorus, MXR's Analog Chorus combines a pedalboard-friendly compactness with the control provided by five knobs. However, this does mean there's some overlap. Is this a di*k move? Sold the 234, too much tone sucker. Simple as can be, this downsized Blue Hippo nevertheless ticks all the required boxes. Anyone ever pass/quit a band due to disagreement over "personal beliefs"? I'll probably even A/B it with the CE-2 in my Fractal Axe II, just out of curiosity. It sounds good, records well, and nails that Kurt Cobain sound. Price: $199/£199/€219 | Controls: Rate, depth, standard/CE-1 mode switch | Sockets: Input, 2x output, power | Bypass: Buffered | Power requirements: 9V power supply, 9V battery. I’m now using an analog CH-1 and am very happy with it. Similar to how analog delays seem darker in repeats. Outside of live use, the guitar effect remained a useful studio tool, defining the bass tones of producers like Andy Wallace. Switch it into vibrato mode and somehow the effect is more subtle – the opposite of what you'd normally expect. Jan 5, 2015 #6 Had experience with the following: Ensemble King* VS Liquid Chorus* EHX Small Clone (big box) Boss CH-1 Marshall Regenerator * = still own Also demo'd a Boss Ce-5 extensively against the small clone before going with the Small Clone (which I later sold [no rate/ level control and awkward input jack]). Visit our corporate site. Small Clone Analog Chorus. Analog chorus pedal popularized by Kurt Cobain. Flangers tend to top out at about 25ms, which is where chorus takes over. It does CE-2 type tones well (I prefer it over the CE-2w) and the effect level and tone controls are useful. By increasing the mix of the effect toward fully wet, a chorus typically crosses the line into vibrato, with an even more pronounced detuned pitch effect. Whether it's for adding movement to ambient parts, or thickening rhythm guitars, chorus has once again become a staple of many guitarists' pedalboards.
